Limit your affiliations to products or services that are relevant
to your site. Do not consider affiliating for a company that you
are not 100% sold on. If you were to add affiliate programs at random,
you could seriously jeopardize your credibility.
Affiliate Internet Marketing and Search Engines
Getting your website listed with DMOZ can make a substantial
difference for your business in the search engines. However, DMOZ
does not accept affiliate sites for inclusion in the directory.

blocking out all affiliate links. If the remaining information is
original and valuable informational content that contributes something
unique to the category’s subject, the site may be a good candidate

There is a big difference between an affiliate page and an affiliate
site. An affiliate site is a website created specifically for the
purpose of promoting an affiliate product or service. An affiliate
page is simply a page you have added to your existing website that
promotes an affiliate product or service. The key
to success with these types of pages is taking the time to provide sincere
quality content that is 100% unique.
Affiliate Strategies
Although having a resource page for your affiliate programs is
certainly acceptable, you will want to set it up to use actual descriptive
content. Do not name this page “affiliate programs.” For example:
SEO and marketing wise, you will want to make sure to follow
the same search engine optimization practices taught in SEO Techniques,
but with far more diligence. Building and dividing content becomes
even more essential. This allows you to take advantage of every
possible effective key phrase. For example:

to a “real page” not to a pop up. All of those new pages have solid
content. Each page would also be added to the site map, and any
applicable category directories.
Additional Affiliate Marketing Strategies
- Write review articles about the affiliate product or service
for your website.
- Write tutorial articles concerning the affiliate program or
service. Publish the article on a professionally designed blog.
Link back to other relevant articles.
- When choosing page titles, consider going far beyond the “brand”
of the product or service. On main pages I may use the actual
product brand name, and on subsequent pages choose more generic
titles.
- Do not just copy and paste information from the affiliate
company website. This is considered duplicate content and can
result in the page being banned from major search engines.

engines, or other cookie cutter approaches such as affiliate programs
with little or no original content".

Successful Affiliate Marketing
When the public considers an online purchase, often they will
first search for reviews or comments about the product or service.
If you are serious about increasing your affiliate income, take
the time to provide these visitors with quality content. The rewards
will far exceed the time involved in the extra effort.
