My purpose in sharing these testimonials is in hopes of encouraging the small business owners who may be feeling overwhelmed with developing their online business. I was a manager at a large Information Technology services company. The company provided many services, including website services. It is a bit humbling to take a class about something that, as a web designer and small business owner with my own web site, I should have already known. Be that as it may, I am so glad that I stumbled upon Cricket's SEO Techniques class. The class took me through logical steps in how to enhance my site, what to look for, and the reasoning behind the search engine algorithms. There were even times when I asked myself why I had set up the site the way that I did because there were just things that I did totally wrong, and worse, I had no idea I was doing it wrong. When I came to Crickets classes I had been exposed to some good ethical SEO training. It was much similar to what she teaches, but didn’t give me the whole picture. I was making headway, but then I hit a wall. I found these classes and started working through each lesson. It is very overwhelming when you start getting the e-mail. It is a ton of information and some of it was way over my head. I find that the setup for the classes (which can be hard to get used to at first) works well and keeps things from getting too complicated. It is very structured and that makes it very easy to follow.

The first time through I made no changes to my site. I just waded through the information and took it all in. I bough the book and began reading that on my own as well. I also read Zig Zigler's book, which was life changing. It completely changed my whole view on life. The second time through I began making changes. Some of the changes were big and others were very small (with many more changes to come). Gradually I am seeing the results. At the beginning of the first session I did check to see how many pages I had indexed. In May I had 90 pages indexed in Google. It is now September and I currently have 1440 pages indexed in Google.

I use Awstats to keep track of my site statistics. In May I had 2513 unique visitors. In August I have 5188 unique visitors and I look to be well over that mark for September.

The key is taking the steps one page at a time. Each page that I have worked on has progressively moved up in Google and on the other search engines. I have tried at one time or another to take short cuts and have seen that the results are not nearly as profitable. It truly takes going through each lesson on each page and making the appropriate changes. Learning the marketing techniques as you go along and implementing those changes. I am also finding the extra discussion groups to be very helpful. I do not have time for random visiting, and I have really enjoyed the structure that is even present in the discussion groups. It is a very well rounded program.

I really can’t thank you enough for providing this free service. They have been invaluable to me and my business.

Although my website has been producing sales for over a year, I have not seen the amount of traffic I would like. I have been paying for pay-per-click advertising which has helped generate some traffic but I needed more which wasn't in my budget.

I have been taking Crickets classes for probably five sessions now - maybe longer. While I knew the basics of html coding before I started, there was a lot I did not know. I have learned to write valid html code, how to use cascading style sheets, and how to optimize my site for the search engines. I had never heard of SEO before I started taking these classes. The fact that you can work at your own speed and stay as long as you need or want is great. I find that there is something I pick up on each time around.
