Creative Design

Website design should be original and creative, without distracting from the content of the site. When it's necessary to use graphics or content from an outside source, proper credit must be given. The design should be consistent throughout the site.

Reasonable Load Time

It's vital to remember that many, if not the majority, of people still use dial up modems to access the web. If your site does not load in a reasonable amount of time, people will not wait. Graphics must be reasonably optimized and animations limited.

Attention To Detail

It's the little things that can make or break a site. The spelling must be correct and the wording used "make sense". All links must work. When using thumbnails, the enlarged photo should open in a new window.

Search Engine Optimization

The website should include at least basic search engine optimization, including meta tags, page description, and be appropriately titled.

Simple Navigation

It must be easy for people to find their way around your site. If people can't find what they are looking for quickly and easily, often they will go someplace else to find it. Main links should be available from every page. If a link is going to take people away from your site, it should open in a new window
